Alexis Walker

Alexis Walker earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus in Vocal Performance at Pacific University, where she was mentored and taught by the likes of Dr. Scott Tuomi, Mrs. Judy A. Rose, and Professor Anne McKee Reed. She was a member of Pacific University’s Chamber Singers, who had the honor of performing for ACDA in Spokane, Washington and at the OMEA Conference in Eugene, Oregon.  She was a featured soloist in “A Gospel Mass” by Robert Ray and for the Portland’s All Classical performance of Wade in the Water arranged by Moses Hogan.

Alexis has a minor in theatre with experience as a Stage Manager and Assistant Producer in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, produced at Pacific University. She finished off her university experience by being a soloist in Pacific University’s production of Sondheim on Sondheim. She was previously vocal instructor and the Voice Program Director at Bach to Rock in Tanasbourne. She is now finishing up her fellowship at Portland Opera, where she learned the business side of the opera world and the company. Now officially apart of the company, working in Development as a Development Assistant. She is now a private voice and piano instructor, and an independent recording artist, with her debut single Vertigo, reaching the masses early October 2024.

Alexis is still performing as she is now apart of Portland Interfaith Gospel Choir, a community based choir lead by LaRhonda Steele.

FAQs

  • Due to preparation for lessons and travel time; I will need to know 24 hours before via email (walexis843@gmail.com) that we need to reschedule a lesson or cancel it for that week.  No matter the circumstances, the class cannot be made-up or refunded if there is no communication 24 hours before.

  • There is no fee for ending lessons. If there is payment that is owed still from the month from taking lessons, that will need to be paid in full or legal action can and will be taken. If I must cancel a lesson due to sickness, life events, etc., I will  be sending an email letting you know that I will not be available 24-48 hours before the scheduled lesson. I will provide rescheduled days to choose from based on our signed agreement (on the form)  and schedule for makeup days provided on the "Get to know Me" page. If there is no way to reschedule the lesson, it will be deducted from the bill.

Ex: If you paid $226 for the month of lessons and I must cancel, the amount of that time that week will be refunded to you. If it is in advance (a month out), the amount for that lesson will be deducted.

  •  I encourage all my students to take time away from the daily grind and take some time to themselves. However, I will still need to be notified if the vacation runs past the day of our scheduled lessons. We can then reschedule the time for that lesson.

  • My limit of ages I will work with is 10 and up (with the exception that a student younger than 10 has the maturity to handle a longer lesson). Each parent must fill in a sign-up sheet with their child. Parents are welcome to sit in on the first few lessons, but it is highly encouraged for the parents to let their child have their independence to learn.

  • Billing can be taken care of as you schedule. If you need to pay in cash I only accept EXACT CHANGE. If cash is your preferred payment, please pay by your last lesson at the end of the month. If you have special circumstances, please reach out via email or through the Contact page.

  • Please be aware of emails. That is where all communication about rescheduled lessons and direct communication will be through.

  • Please notify me if there is sickness in the home. These lessons are automatic rescheduled lessons.
